They were only trying to save their own life and unfortunately take the person's who was trying to kill them in the process. Also certain situations like car accidents. The driver of the other car most likely did not intend to crash into another car and tragically kill someone in the process. After all, they are called accidents for a reason.
The way I look at the death penalty is by putting myself in the situation. If someone was going to court for murdering and doing other atrocious things to my child, I would want that person dead. It might sound harsh to many people, but that is how I feel. Can you honestly say you wouldn’t want the person responsible for the death of your child to die?
